RBI may cut policy rates by 25 bps

After cutting the policy repo rate by an 'unconventional' 35 basis points in the August bi-monthly monetary policy review, the Reserve Bank of India is expected to cut it further by up to 25 basis points in the upcoming October 4 review to complement the recent corporate tax cuts announced by the government to reverse the slowdown in growth.

SC stays cutting of trees for Wadala-Thane Metro 4 line

Thane: A plan to cut or transplant nearly 3,500 trees for the Thane Metro line has been put on hold for two weeks by the Supreme Court. The top court on Monday restrained the state government and the region’s development body, MMRDA, from chopping trees for construction of the Metro 4 line.
