Bombay HC scolds BMC for zeal to raze small platform in housing society

Mangrove destruction: Forest dept files fresh report against INS Hamla

The mangrove cell of the state forest department on earlier this week (Monday) filed a fresh preliminary offence report, or a forest offence report, against the Indian Navy Station (INS) Hamla in Marve, Malad (West), for destroying mangroves at a 14.2 hectare (ha) plot near the naval station.

BMC plans Miyawaki forest on 70-ha stretch of coastal road

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), in a bid to facilitate sustainable green cover on the under-construction coastal road stretch between Princess Street Flyover and Worli, plans to plant the Miyawaki forest on the 70-hectare stretch of Phase 1 of the project.
