After Centre's nod, over 2.20L PMAY homes to be built in Maharashtra

Last week the state government got a nod from the central government for the construction of 10,600 more homes under the ambitious Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna (PMAY) bringing the total number of homes approved in the state to close to 2.20 lakh

Drones to now track destruction at mangrove patch in Maharashtra

In a first for Maharashtra, the state mangrove cell has begun pilot testing of drones along the Chiplun mangroves in Ratngiri district to track their health. After Goa, Maharashtra is the second state to use drones for mangrove conservation in India.
     

HC: 2015 bldg height curbs to apply around airports

Mumbai: The Bombay high court cleared the way on Thursday for application of 2015 rules laying down height restrictions for buildings in zones around the airport by disposing of a PIL filed in 2014 against violations by advocate Yeshwant Shenoy.

No property tax likely for homes up to 700 sq ft in Mumbai

In a bid to compete with Shiv Sena, that rules the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Manoj Kotak, a BJP corporator has moved a notice of motion to waive off property tax for tenements measuring up to 700 sq ft in the city.
