Annual General Meeting of MCHI – CREDAI commenced on September 28, 2016 at Birla Matoshree Sabhagriha, New Marine Lines amidst huge congregation of MCHI – CREDAI members which included members from our five units also. As planned, it turned out to be a grand affair with presentation of Annual Report Card by Hony. Secretary, thunderous address by the President Shri Dharmesh Jain and topical presentations by Industry stalwarts and much more. All Managing Committee Members and Past Presidents seated in the front row, made a rare sight.
The program started with Registration of members after which everybody took their positions in the auditorium for National Anthem.
Emcee for the evening, Hony. Secretary Shri Nainesh Shah played the role with élan with his apt introduction of speakers and effective summing up of the speeches and presentations. Hony. Secretary read and confirmed the minutes of the 33rd AGM, receiving and adoption of Auditor’s Report and presented Audited Statements of Accounts for the year ended as on 31st March 2016.
Shri Nainesh Shah in his welcome address warmly welcomed everybody and briefly spoke about the achievements of MCHI – CREDAI in the year gone by (2015 -16). He also made a very informative presentation titled: MCHI – CREDAI Annual Report Card – 2015 -16 which outlined all the accomplishments & achievements of MCHI – CREDAI during the year covering right from donation to Jalyukt Shivar, EoDB Seminar, MoU on Affordable Housing signing to Suraj Parmar MPL III to Silver Jubilee Property Expo. He termed it as year of action & transformation which has paved the way for many positive developments in the coming year.
Addressing the member participants in his inimitable style, President Shri Dharmesh Jain said, “There is a need to work towards restoring the Mumbai’s glory back as Housing hub and ideal business destination.” Shri Jain made a very informative presentation on how Mumbai’s lost glory can be achieved titled: Real Estate Development with a global outlook which covered MCHI – CRDAI’s mission, outlining how MMR can be established as destination to do Business, showcasing MCHI – CREDAI’s bench marks and changes and challenges. Shri Jain also emphasized that the CREDAI-MCHI’s goal & mission should be to establish MMR as the best place to do business once again and reposition & rebrand the real estate market here!
Shri Vyomesh Shah, Returning Officer declared the results of the 1/3rd Managing Committee Elections for the term 2016 – 2017, 2017 -2018, 2018 -2019. He also announced Shri Sandeep Shah of HBS Realtors as new joinee of Managing Committee.
In continuation to this, Shri Ajmera made a major announcement through a presentation: Why CREDAI – MCHI. Yes, MCHI – CREDAI has been re-christened as CREDAI – MCHI. The ratification of rebranding from MCHI – CREDAI to CREDAI – MCHI was proposed by Shri Ajmera which was seconded by Shri Mayur Shah, President – Elect.
Shri Tejas Vyas, Chairman, Exhibition Committee, MCHI – CREDAI made a powerful presentation on Property Expos organized by MCHI – CREDAI and how these have evolved over 26 editions passing through the tests of time and coming up with flying colours. It is one ‘property’ of MCHI – CREDAI which buyers eagerly look forward to owing to their unique and user – friendly offerings.
A presentation was made by our Principal Sponsors “Anchor” by Shri Rajesh More showcasing their strengths as an important stake-holder to Real-Estate industry.
Now was the time for some knowledge booster dose which was provided by Shri Anuj Puri, Chairman & Country Head, JLL who said, addressing the distinguished audience, “Though times are challenging, but opportunities are immense. Now that we are at the cusp of transformation, the times look difficult but here I will just say: Through every dark night, there's a bright day after that. So we can look forward to bright sunny days ahead, what if the night is dark.”
Shri Puri's presentation titled: Real - Estate Market Trends & Analysis was indeed very thought provoking and informative.
Shri Pankaj Kapoor, Managing Director, Liases Foras made very exhaustive presentation titled: Real Estate – Market Diagnostics & Trends.
Mrs. Sonal Shah of Women’s Wing apprised members of achievements of Women’s Wing of last one year which included conducting five health camps, International Women’s Day celebration and felicitation of Farah Khan Ali, Wellness Session with Dr. Aparna Santhanam and many more. She also declared website of Women’s Wing: www.mchicreadaiwomenswing.com going live.
Ms. Nandini John of Sunday Mobility made an informative speech about the newly formed mobile App of MCHI – CREDAI positioned as Google of Real – Estate industry and explained its utility.
A presentation was also made on the course PGDM – RECM by Ms. Anuja Agarwal.
Our Past President Shri Mofatraj Munot sportingly took to the mike and recited a beautiful line aptly explaining the industry today:
रात जितनी संगीन होगी, सुबह उतनी ही रंगीन होगी
Continuing the tempo for the evening, Shri Hussain, CEO recited a impromptu sher which beautifully summed up the evening:
दिल नाउम्मीद तो नहीं, नाकाम ही तो है,
लंबी है ग़म की शाम, मगर शाम ही तो है
तूले ग़मे हयात से, न घबरा ऐ जिगर

Annual General Meeting of MCHI – CREDAI turned out to be a very well – appreciated and well-attended affair. Members also watched the corporate Audio – Visual especially prepared for the event.
