Affordable Housing MoU Review Meeting by Housing Department |
A review meeting was called by Shri Shri Kant Singh (I.A.S.), Principal Secretary for Housing Department to discuss the progress updates on the MOU signed for Affordable Housing during ‘Make in India’ at BKC Mumbai on February 2016. The meeting was attended by Shri Ramchandra Dhanavade - Dy. Secretary and Smt. Meenal Pednekar – Under Secretary along with MCHI – CREDAI representation by Shri Nainesh Shah, Hon. Secretary, Shri Nayan Shah, Vice President, Shri S. S. Hussain, CEO, Shri Avadhoot Rane, GM and Shri Sanjiv Chaudhary, Head – Research.
In this meeting Shri Nainesh Shah briefed about current status after submitting 43 proposals to the Chief Minister’s Office for Affordable Housing. He suggested that Housing Department may act as Nodal Agency to monitor and operate the proposals which were submitted to the Government. CREDAI-MCHI Members gave 5 important key issues which are major obstacles in the Development of Affordable Housing in the proposals and the idea was that a coordinated effort be made by both sides for clear them for expedition and completion of projects.
In view of the above, PS-Housing confirmed to address all the project based issues in a speedy manner for all MMR Projects other than Mumbai Municipal limits in a phase wise manner. He also suggested the delegation to take top 20 projects with substantial number of houses (major projects) as an example with 5 key issues identified/suggested under the MOU in MMR Jurisdiction. After submitting such a proposal his department will call a report from concerned divisional commissioner, collectors and Municipal Commissioners on each project.
Once this report is submitted to Housing Department, he has confirmed that department will scrutinize it and may call next review meeting of MCHI Members along with concerned officials to discuss the further strategy plan for way forward to expedite and fast track expected construction of Affordable Houses in MMR.
A very fruitful meeting was attended with Shri Satish Gavai (IAS), Principal Secretary (Environment) where Shri Vyomesh Shah (Imm. Past President) had taken up the following 5 points like Full Potential Approval, Meetings frequency, Purview of Committees, CRZ and Layout development which was well taken by the Principal Secretary.
